Diane Kruger Defends Quentin Tarantino After Reports That He Choked Her On Inglourious Basterds Set
As we previously reported, Uma Thurman spoke about tensions she had on the set of Kill Bill with director Quentin Tarantino due to a car crash that she was involved in. She claimed that Tarantino forced her to drive the car, which she felt was unsafe. She also said that the director had a huge fight and it made things chilly between the two from then on. Tarantino later presented his side of the story, mentioning that he regretted his actions and that the two are fine now.
After the story about Thurman, reports began to resurface about Tarantino stepping in for actor Christoph Waltz to choke Diane Kruger for a scene in Inglourious Basterds.
Kruger said in 2009 Parade interview: ““The funny part is that Quentin’s hands are in the close-up. I won’t give away the name of the actor who kills me, but Quentin said, ‘He’s not going to do it right, it’ll either be too much or too little. I know exactly what I need and I think I should just do it.’ I have to say it was very strange being strangled by the director.”
With the story resurfacing and more people turning a critical eye to the director, Kruger stepped forward to defend him in a post on Instagram. She wrote:
