February 8, 2019 | Posted by

Deadline reports that Alistair Legrand (Clinical) has been hired to direct an adaptation of Stephen King’s 2011 novella Mile 81. The story was originally published as an e-book before getting collected into King’s book The Bazaar of Bad Dreams in 2015. The film will be produced by Ross M. Dinerstein, who previously produced the Netflix adaptation of King’s other novella 1922 and Netflix’s docuseries The Innocent Man. Legrand also wrote the script with Luke Harvis. Production will begin in the fall.
Here’s a synopsis: Set around a remote, boarded-up rest stop, the film will follow 12-year-old Pete, his brother, and a group of strangers who must fight to survive as they’re hunted by a mysterious force.
