Disney Announces Hefty Prices For Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Hotel
Disney has announced the prices for its Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser hotel, and let’s just say that a lot of people won’t be able to go into hyperspace. Walt Disney World has announced the prices for the hotel opening next spring, and SF Gate notes that they are above those of “almost any other Disney experience.”
According to the Walt Disney World site, the prices run from $4,809 for two guests in a Standard Cabin for two nights on up. Adding a kid to the same room is $5,299 and adding a third adult brings it to $5,599. Galaxy Class Suites and Grand Captain Suite go even higher.
To compare, you can take a cruise on the new Disney Wish, which is their most advanced cruise ship, for about $1,000 a night for two people when it launches next summer. And the average nightly rate at the most expensive hotel at Walt Disney World, is about $675.
The prices are causing the news to trend on Twitter, with people balking at the cost.
The website describes the Galactic Starcruiser as follows:
“Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a revolutionary new 2-night experience where you are the hero. You and your group will embark on a first-of-its-kind Star Wars adventure that’s your own. It’s the most immersive Star Wars story ever created — one where you live a bespoke experience and journey further into a Star Wars adventure than you ever dreamed possible.”
A sample itinerary includes “story moments” teasing things like “Prove your mettle to join an elite smuggling ring” and “Hide a stowaway to help the Resistance,” along with other Star Wars-themed events and attractions like Sabacc lessons, lightsaber training, a droid racing competition and such.
