According to TMZ, Donald Trump used his State of the Union address to take a subtle shot at the NFL, by saying that all Americans should stand for the national anthem. During his speech, he praised 12-year-old Preston Sharp, who recently put flags on the graves of American military veterans.

He said: “Preston’s reverence for those who have served our nation reminds us why we salute our flag, why we put our hands on our hearts for the pledge of allegiance and why we proudly STAND for the national anthem!

The crowd applauded the line, which made Trump smile and point. If it truly was a shot at the NFL, it wouldn’t be the first time. The league was the center of controversy last year when Trump claimed they should fire any player that tries to kneel during the anthem.
