Dune: Part Two Officially Greenlit, Set For 2023 Bow
If you enjoyed the new Dune, worry not — that second part is officially a go. Deadline reports that the sequel has officially been greenlit and will be released on October 20th, 2023.
Denis Villeneuve, who directed and co-wrote the film along with producing it, will be back for the second part. The film will be getting an excluive theatrical release, which Deadline reports was a key point of negotiations between Legendary and Warner Bros.
Legendary and Warner Bros. confirmed the news by announcing the film is moving ahead on Twitter.
Dune was one of the most anticipated films of the year and has done well in its theatrical release so far, with $223.2 million worldwide. It is the first part of Villeneuve’s adaptation of the Frank Herbert novel.
