El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie To Feature Over 10 Characters From Original Series

When El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie debuts on Netflix next month, it will feature a host of familiar characters aside from Jesse Pinkman. Vince Gilligan spoke with THR about the upcoming follow-up film to Breaking Bad and while discussing the film revealed that it includes “more than 10” characters from the original series.
Of those characters, only Jessie (Aaron Paul), Skinny Pete (Charles Baker) and Badger (Matt L. Jones) have been revealed. The feature does not that one “key castmember” was shuttled in and out of Albuquerque on a private jet in order to keep them secret. Gilligan also revealed when he began thinking of the story, and it was before Breaking Bad finished.
“I didn’t really tell anybody about it, because I wasn’t sure I would ever do anything with it,” he says. “But I started thinking to myself, ‘What happened to Jesse?’ You see him driving away. And to my mind, he went off to a happy ending. But as the years progressed, I thought, ‘What did that ending — let’s just call it an ending, neither happy, nor sad — what did it look like?’”
The film bows on October 11th on Netflix, along with a select number of theaters, before airing on AMC early in 2020.
