The epilogue sequence from Zack Snyder’s Justice League brought the Joker into the Knightmare world, and an extended scene features a bit more of his interaction with Batman. Snyder posted a bit of extra footage from the sequence to Twitter, which you can check out below. The clip is being used to promote Jared Leto’s new a “We Live in a Society” T-Shirt, which will see 50% of the profits benefit the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention.

The epilogue takes place sometime in the future, when Superman has gone evil in a way that is hinted to be similar to the events of the Injustice video game and comic book. That continuity saw Superman go to the dark side after Joker tricked Superman into killing Lois, though the Clown Prince of Crime had died immediately after in that universe.

The Knightmare epilogue sees Batman as a part of a team that includes Cyborg, Flash, Mera, Deathstroke, and Joker who are set on stopping Superman. In it, Batman says that they need Joker and Joker taunts the Bat with the death of Robin, to which Batman says that when Harley Quinn died, she asked Batman that when he kills Joker he do it slowly.

The extended sequence has Joker deliver his “We live in a society” line, albeit as part of a greater statement. You can see the clip below.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is now available to watch on HBO Max.
