First Teaser Trailer Released For CBS All-Access’ The Stand Adaptation

CBS All-Access is bringing a fictional pandemic to give fans something to watch during the real pandemic in The Stand, and the first teaser trailer is online. The CBS streaming service posted the first teaser for the limited series, which will premiere on December 17th and run for nine episodes on a weekly basis. You can see the video below.

The series is based on the Stephen King best-seller and depicts a battle between good and evil following a pandemic that decimates the world, with the heroes led by Mother Abagail (Whoopi Goldberg) opposite a charming monster of a man in Randall Flagg (Alexander Skarsgård). King is writing the final episode, which will include a coda not seen in the original novel.

In addition to Goldberg and Skarsgård, the cast includes James Marsden (Stu Redman), Amber Heard (Nadine Cross), Odessa Young (Frannie Goldsmith), Henry Zaga (Nick Andros), Katherine McNamara (Julie Lawry) and Jovan Adepo (Larry Underwood).
