Halo the Series Marks Most-Watched Paramount+ Series Premiere Ever

Halo the Series has unleashed on Paramount+, and the show’s opener has notched the service’s most watched premiere ever. Paramount+ announced (per Deadline that the first episode, which bowed on March 24th, set a record for the most-watched series globally in the platform’s lifespan in its first 24 hours.

Paramount does not release specific viewership numbers, though the announcement would mean it topped the 4.9 million views that the 1883 drama series notched for its series premiere (numbers which were revealed by Nielsen streaming). Nielsen’s rankings for last week will come out later this week.

Halo has already been renewed for a second season. It stars Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey, and Jen Taylor as Cortana alongside Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, and Danny Sapani and is described as follows:

HALO will take place in the universe that first debuted in 2001 with the launch of Xbox’s first “Halo” game. Dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, HALO the series will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.
