HBO Boss Gives Release Window Update For House of the Dragon Season Two

We now have a better notion of when we might see House of the Dragon season two premiere. HBO and HBO Max content CEO Casey Bloys recently spoke with Variety and gave an update on when the second season of the Game of Thrones prequel might begin airing.

Boys said that 2024 was a “good guess” for when the new run of episodes would air, though he noted that it’s unlikely to be eligible for the 2024 Emmy Awards — which means that it would release sometime after May 31st of that tear. A summer 2024 premiere would seem to be the likely spot.

House of the Dragon was a major hit for HBO and HBO Max, with the show setting records for a new series. The season finale drew 9 million viewers on its premiere night and over 29 million viewers in its first week of viewing.

Production has just begun on the second season.
