Prince Adam Must Save His Home From Skeletor in New Trailer for Masters of the Universe

Amazon MGM Studios delivered a powerful new trailer today for the upcoming live-action Masters of the Universe. You can check out the new trailer release in the player below.

The first movie showcased the premise, as Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) was hidden away on Earth by his parents to protect him from an attack by Skeletor (Jared Leto). In the new trailer, new footage reveals Adam returning home to Eternia, which is now under Skeletor’s brutal rule.

It now falls to Adam to fulfill his destiny by becoming He-Man to save his home and free the people of Eternia from Skeletor! The new trailer also notably reveals Leto’s first lines as Skeletor, as he adopts a very regal tone of voice and accent. Also, Amazon clearly took fan feedback from the first trailer into account, adding Battle Cat in place of the famous MGM lion in the studio’s logo.

From the trailer, fans can also get a better look at what is clearly the live-action version of Mekaneck (James Wilkinson) in the movie. There’s also more of Idris Elba in his full Man-at-Arms gear, ready to brawl, some choice beats of He-Man fighting a Roton in an intense action sequence, Alison Brie looking quite devious as Evil-Lyn, plus some more of Battle Cat/Cringer.

Masters of the Universe Arrives in Theaters Later This June

Masters of the Universe also stars Camila Mendes as Teela, James Purefoy as King Randor, Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto, and Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto. Masters of the Universe arrives in theaters on June 5.

The upcoming feature, based on Mattel’s iconic toyline, is directed by Travis Knight from a script by Chris Butler, Aaron Nee & Adam Nee, and Dave Callaham. The story was crafted by the Nees, Alex Litvak, and Michael Finch.

Masters of the Universe will be summoning the Power of Grayskull into theaters on June 5.
