Henry Cavill In Talks to Return to DCEU as Superman
Henry Cavill’s tenure as the Man of Steel isn’t done with after all, as he’s reportedly in talks to reprise his role as Superman. Deadline reports that Cavill is in talks with Warner Bros. for the actor to star in a future film in the DC Universe.
There’s no word on which film Cavill may potentially appear in, nor whether it would be a starring role or supporting/cameo appearance. That said, the site does not that there is still not a Man of Steel sequel in the works and he isn’t expected to appear in The Batman. DC’s next films going into production are Shazam 2, Black Adam, and Aquaman 2.
Cavill has played Superman in Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. After the failure of Justice League, Warner Bros. initially decided to move on from Ben Affleck and Cavill’s personifications of Batman and Superman. While Robert Pattinson is playing the Dark Knight in The Batman, Superman had not been recast.
Warner Bros had no comment on Deadline’s story.
