J.K. Simmons In Talks To Play Commissioner Gordon In Batgirl
J.K. Simmons is set to put the trenchoat back on and book his ticket to Gotham, as he’s in talks to reprise his role as Commissioner Gordon in Batgirl. Deadline reports that Simmons, who played the role in Justice League, is in talks to return for the role for the upcoming HBO Max-headed film.
Batgirl centers on Barbara Gordon version of the titular character, who is of course Commissioner Gordon’s daughter. Leslie Grace (In the Heights) will play Barbara in the film, which Christina Hodson wrote. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Bad Boys For Life) will direct the film, which will release exclusively on the streaming service in 2022.
Simmons is also reportedly set to reprise his role as J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man: No Way Home after returning to the role in Far From Home.
