James Gunn Debunks Report That Wonder Woman Won’t Be Part of DCU For Three Years

A new report suggested that Wonder Woman will not be part of the DCU for the first three years, and James Gunn has officially debunked it. Variety had posted a report which said that Gunn and Peter Safran “will soon reveal their three-year interconnected vision” for the DCU and that it wouldn’t include “[Henry] Cavill’s Superman or Wonder Woman at all.”
The report made its way to Twitter and someone tagged Gunn in it, asking them to debunk the news. Gunn replied:
“I hereby debunk it (only because it’s not true).”
Gunn went on to note in regard to a the same report mentioning Ezra Miller and the “three-year” plan,
“I don’t know what’s out there about Ezra but our slate is 8 to 10 years (but we will only be announcing some of it this month).”
Gunn and Safran have been reconfiguring the DCU and creating a cohesive plan going forward for the universe since being tapped to head the studio in October. Among the changes have been a new Superman film written by Gunn without Cavill starring, Black Adam not factoring into the DCU’s “first chapter,” and Patty Jenkins’ third Wonder Woman film not moving forward. Gal Gadot’s status as Wonder Woman is not yet known.
Variety reports Wonder Woman will not appear in the first 3 years of the DCU at all.
