James Marsden To Star In Sonic the Hedgehog Movie

Variety reports that James Marsden is set to star in Paramount’s live-action/animated film Sonic the Hedgehog, the first theatrical film based on the video game series. Paramount acquired the rights last year. Jeff Fowler will direct with Neal H. Moritz producing through Original Film (which has a first-look deal with Paramount). Tim Miller will executive produce with Toby Ascher, Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons. The film debuts on November 15, 2019.

For those who haven’t played the games, it follows a blue hedgehog that tries to stop the evil Dr. Eggman from capturing animals and turning them into robots. To do this, he has to collect the seven chaos emeralds and gain special abilities as Super Sonic.
