Jason Momoa Would Love to Play Wolverine in the MCU
When Marvel gets around to bringing the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jason Momoa wouldn’t mind a call to play Wolverine. Cinema Blend reports that Momoa was asked which Marvel Cinematic Universe role he’d like to do during a Q&A at San Antonio Celebrity Fan Fest and named the Canucklehead himself.
“I’d love to play Wolverine,” Momoa said. “(Hugh Jackman) was phenomenal. I grew up just loving Wolverine.”
On first glance, this would be an odd choice to play the most famous of the X-Men. After all, Logan is famously short and Momoa is far from that at a mighty 6’4″. It is worth noting, however, that Jackman also defied height standards to play the role; the Logan star is 6’2″.
Either way, we’re unlikely to see it happen particularly soon. Kevin Feige has said that it will be “a very long time” before they are able to incorporate the X-Men or Fantastic Four into their plans now that they have the properties back in the Fox purchase.
