Joel Edgerton To Star In Netflix Film The King

Variety reports that Joel Edgerton and Timothee Chalamet are set to star in Netflix’s The King. It will be produced by Plan B’s Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, along with Edgerton, Liz Watts and director David Michod. Edgerton was already involved with the film, as he is writing the script with Michod. The two previously worked together on 2010’s Animal Kingdom and co-wrote 2014’s The Rover. Production begins in Europe in June.

Here’s a synopsis: Based on Shakespeare’s plays “Henry IV” and “Henry V,” Chalamet portrays in the pic a young, disgraced prince who inherits the crown and must learn what it means to be a king, guided by his one true friend, Falstaff (Edgerton).
