Joel Kinnaman Confirms He’s Returning For The Suicide Squad

It’s official: Rick Flag will be back for The Suicide Squad. Joel Kinnaman took to Instagram on Wednesday and said that he is “easing into that squad prep” and thus would be among those reprising their roles for the James Gunn-directed sequel. You can see his post below.

Flag joins Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Viola Davis as those returning for the film. New cast members include Idris Elba (playing an unrevealed character), David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man) and Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher). John Cena is also said to be appearing in the film, which is a “soft reboot” (i.e. not the events of the previous film) and is set to be release on August 6th, 2021.
