John Woo Returns to American Cinema With the Dialogue-Free Silent Night
Lionsgate debuted the new trailer and poster art this week for the next feature from legendary director John Woo, Silent Night. This marks Woo’s first American film since 2003’s Paycheck.
Silent Night follows a gritty revenge tale as a tormented father (Joel Kinnaman) witnesses the murder of his young son during a gang’s crossfire on Christmas Eve. While recovering from a gunshot wound that took away his voice, the father seeks a path of vengeance and embarks on a training regiment to avenge his son’s death.
John Woo directs the film from a script by Robert Archer Lynn. The action-thriller also stars Scott Mescudi, Harold Torres, and Catalina Sandino Moreno. The new film will not feature any spoken dialogue. It arrives in theaters on December 1. You can check out the trailer and poster image below:
