The Disney Channel announced today that Lin-Manuel Miranda will make his debut in the new DuckTales animated series on Friday, May 11. The new episode will be broadcast on Disney Channel and streamed on DisneyNow for the network’s inaugural Duck Week.
Mirana will voice Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera, who is also the alter-ego for the superhero Gizmoduck. In the new show, Fenton will start as a research assistant for Gyro Gearloose in one of Scrooge McDuck’s labs and helping him develop the Gizmoduck suit, which was hinted at earlier in the season.
The new Disney animated series stars David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck, Danny Pudi as Huey, Ben Schwartz as Dewey, Bobby Moynihan as Louie, Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack, Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuak, Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley, and Tony Anselmo as Donald Duck.
The show is set to return with new episodes starting on May 1 on the Disney Channel. New episodes will then premiere for every Friday in May. New episodes and shorts for the show are set to debut throughout the summer across Disney Channel, DisneyNOW and Disney Channel YouTube platforms.
