Lionsgate Announces Orphan 3, Isabelle Furhman To Return
The Orphan franchise is now a trilogy, with a third film officially announced. Variety reports that Orphan 3 is greenlit with Isabelle Fuhrman reprising her role as Esther from the previous two films.
Plot details are under wraps for the new horror film, which will feature Esther who appeared in Orphan and the prequel Orphan: First Kill as an apparent young girl who is more than she appears.
David Coggeshall and William Brent Bell are back to write and direct the new film, having filled such roles in Orphan: First Kill. That film released in 2022 theatrically and on Paramount+ with $45.6 million worldwide. The original film released in 2009 and grossed $78.8 million worldwide against a $20 million budget.
“Dark Castle is excited to announce another terrifying chapter in the Orphan saga,” said Norman Golightly, Co-CEO of Dark Castle Entertainment. “With the past success of the first two movies and another thrilling storyline, we are confident that Orphan 3 will be a must-see movie for both current fans of the franchise, and new fans alike.”
