Loki Writer Says Season Two Will ‘Subvert Expectations’ From Season One
The writer for Loki is gearing up for season two, and he says show will subvert audience’s expectations while covering “new emotional ground.” Michael Waldron recently spoke with Deadline’s Hero Nation podcast while promoting Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and talked about the plans for a second season.
“In creating the show in the first place, the only way it’s worth doing to me is that we can find a new story to tell with this character,” Waldron said. “It felt like we had new emotional ground to cover with Loki. That’s the only way into season 2. We absolutely found that. It’s a great continuation of that story that feels different from season one and hopefully will subvert expectations.”
The second season isn’t expected until early next year and other than Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson returning, we don’t yet know what or who is set for the show. Season one ended with Loki returning back to the Time Variance Authority to find that things have changed, with Kang the Conqueror seemingly in place of the Timekeepers.
