Marvel Zombies Animated Series To Center On Kamala Khan

The upcoming Marvel Zombies animated series will be centered on Kamala Khan, according to Iman Vellani. Vellani plays the role of Kamala, aka Ms. Marvel, in the MCU and has confirmed in an interview with The Direct that she will reprise the role for the TV-MA series, while also noting that Kamala is “kind of the center of the show.”

“We’ve done the whole thing,” Vellani said. “It was amazing. It was so much fun. And I love — there are a lot of cool characters in the Marvel Zombies show. And Kamala is kind of the center of the show. They described it to me, it’s like, ‘She’s basically the Frodo of the story.’ And I was like, ‘That’s amazing.’ And I get to interact and meet all these people along her journey.”

She continued, “And, yes, they’re only the voices, and I don’t get to hear their voices in real-time. But just, it’s my fantasies, right? Like, knowing Kamala is going to interact with some really cool people, even if it’s just animation, is so special in a lot of ways.“

Marvel Zombies is inspired by the limited series comic from Robert Kirkman and the What If…? episode that first brought the concept to the screen. The first season will be four episodes and will be one of Marvel’s first TV-MA projects. A release date has yet to be revealed.
