During today’s Netflix Anime panel at Anime Expo 2018, Netflix announced that the highly anticipated second season for the animated Castlevania series will debut later this October on the streaming service. Some first look images were also released, which you can see below.

Show executive producer Adi Shankar was on hand for the panel, and an early trailer was shown. Season 2 will continue after the events of the first season finale. The story will see Trevor Belmont and his allies waging war against Vlad Dracula Tepes.

Castlevania is directed by Sam Deats and written and executive produced by Warren Ellis. Fred Seibert, Kevin Kolde and Adi Shankar also serve as executive producers. Castlevania Season 2 launches on October 26 on Netflix with eight episodes. All eight episodes will be available to stream at launch.

Here’s an official synopsis for season 2:

“Returning to Netflix for a second season, Castlevania, inspired by the classic videogame series, is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepes himself. Trevor Belmont, last survivor of his house, is no longer alone, and he and his misfit comrades race to find a way to save humanity from extinction at the hands of the grief-maddened Dracula and his sinister vampire war council.”
