Netflix Seeking Deal For Sixth Season of Lucifer
The Devil may not be done with Netflix after all, as the service is looking to extend Lucifer beyond its already-announced final season. TV Line reports that Netflix has not yet come to a deal with Warner Bros., but the two sides are in talks about a potential sixth season. Neither company have chosen to comment on the news.
Lucifer moved to Netflix in 2018 after its third season, with Netflix renewing the show following FOX’s decision to cancel it. The series has been quite the success for the streamer and its fifth season, which was set to be its last, was announced in June of 2019. However, Netflix has clearly wanted more episodes for a while; it upped the episode count from 10 to 16 a month after the fifth season renewal.
The fifth season will feature the return of Inbar Lavi as Eve and releases later this year in two batches of eight episodes.
