Netflix Rejected Holmes & Watson Due to Negative Reviews

Holmes & Watson currently holds a dismal 7 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a D+ CinemaScore, opening with only $6.4 million over Christmas on a budget of $42 million. Deadline reports that, “test scores for Holmes & Watson were so bad that Sony tried unloading the movie to Netflix, but the streamer wouldn’t buy it.”
Previously, Netflix stepped in and helped The Cloverfield Paradox, acquiring that film, while also allowing the studio to recoup some of the film’s production costs (Netflix allegedly paid $50 million for Paradox).
