Paramount+ is getting ready to make the plunge into original films, with the new Paranormal Activity, and Antoine Fuqua’s sci-fi pic Infinite coming this year. According to THR, Paramount CEO Bob Bakish announced during Thursday’s Q1 earnings call that Infinite will arrive on Paramount+ in late June instead of releasing theatrically. He also noted that the Paranormal Activity film will premiere on the service “by the end of ’21.”

Bakish highlights the push to get content on the service, which was previously known as CBS All Access. He noted that 1,000 additional movies will arrive in early June “with additional titles following through July, bringing the total to over 2,500.” Arrivals coming soon include Skyfall, Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, Rocketman, Sonic the Hedgehog and more.

Infinite stars Mark Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor and is directed by Fuqua (Training Day). It follows a man discovers that his hallucinations are actually visions from past lives and was originally scheduled to release in August of last year before being delayed due to the pandemic.

Bakish also confirmed that A Quiet Place Part II will be available on the service 45 days after its May 28th release date (which, doing the math, would be July 12th). He added that “all of this is a preview to a substantial ramping up of original movies next year, when we expect to begin averaging an original movie a week in 2022.”
