New Red Band The Grudge Trailer Released

A new red band trailer is online for The Grudge, featuring a closer look at a disturbing scene from the new entry in the franchise. You can see the trailer below, which features Andrea Riseborough’s Detective Muldoon approaching a house where she finds Lin Shaye’s Faith Matheson. It quickly becomes very clear that things are not alright in the home, after which the trailer features a series of quick cuts of the movie’s scares.

The film also stars Demián Bichir, John Cho, Betty Gilpin, and Jacki Weaver and opens on January 3, 2020. The synopsis of the film, which is a reimagining of the original 2004 remake but set in the same universe at the same time as that film, is as follows:

A single mother and young detective, Muldoon (Andrea Riseborough), discovers that a suburban house is cursed by a vengeful ghost that dooms those who enter it with a violent death. Now, she runs to save herself and her son from demonic spirits from the cursed house in her neighborhood.
