Aladdin Gets New Trailer Featuring More of Will Smith’s Genie
Walt Disney Pictures has released the latest trailer for its upcoming live-action Aladdin adaptation. You can check out the new video below.
The last trailer received a great deal of controversy and social media backlash for Will Smith’s depiction as the Genie. Well, the new trailer does show a lot more of Will Smith’s Genie, in both his maligned blue form and in another form that makes him look more human and not blue.
The film releases on May 24. You can see the trailer below, which shows a glimpse at the scene of the film in which the titular hero (Mena Massoud) ventures into the Cave of Wonders where he will meet the genie. In addition to Massoud, the film stars Will Smith as the Genie, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban as the Sultan, Nasim Pedrad as Dalia, Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders, and Numan Acar as Hakim. Guy Ritchie is directing from a script by John August. Here’s an official synopsis:
