New Kombatants are ready to test their might as the tournament has begun in the official trailer for Mortal Kombat II. You can check out the newly revealed trailer and poster for the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures release below.

The new trailer showcases Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, an over-the-hill former action movie star, who’s recruited to join Mortal Kombat in a fight for the fate of Earthrealm. Now, Cage must step up to lead the Earthrealm champions against the dark rule of Shao Kahn (Martyn Ford), who threatens Earthrealm’s existence.

Urban joins the cast in the sequel, alongside Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Ludi Lin as Liu Cage, Mehcad Brooks Jax, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, with Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han (aka Sub-Zero), and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi (aka Scorpion).

Despite some characters meeting their end in the last movie, as many fans know, death is rarely final in Mortal Kombat. It looks like Kung Lao (Max Huang) is also back in some form in the sequel. Also, longtime fan-favorite Baraka is in action in the trailer.
