Patrick Stewart Invites Whoopi Goldberg to Appear on Star Trek: Picard Season Two
Whoopi Goldberg isn’t appearing as Guinan in the debut season of Star Trek: Picard season one, but if Patrick Stewart has his way she’ll be in season two. Stewart appeared on The View on Wednesday morning and invited her to join the show for its sophomore run.
“I’m here with a formal invitation, and it’s for you, Whoopi,” Stewart said to Goldberg, surprising her. “Alex Kurtzman, who is the senior executive producer of Star Trek: Picard, and all his colleagues, of which I am one, want to invite you into the second season.”
Goldberg was emotional after the invitation, which she apparently didn’t know was coming, and said, “I’ve said this on the show before, but Star Trek was one of the great experiences, from the beginning to the end. I had the best, best, best time ever.”
The show, which takes place years after the events of The Next Generation arrives tomorrow on CBS All-Access. The ten-episode first season stars Stewart in his iconic role along with Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway, and Isa Briones. Brent Spiner, Jeri Ryan, Jonathan Del Arco, Jonathan Frakes, and Marina Sirtis.
