Pierce Brosnan Says He Met With Quentin Tarantino About James Bond Movie Idea Years Ago
During a recent live interview with Esquire, Piece Brosnan revealed that he once met with Quentin Tarantino shortly after the release of Kill Bill Vol. 2 about doing a James Bond movie together. Brosnan said the two met at the Four Seasons in Hollywood. Tarantino made Brosnan wait for him for awhile as he was busy doing press upstairs and kept sending Brosnan martinis while he waited, leading to Brosnan being somewhat drunk when Tarantino finally came down. Tarantino was then more than happy to catch up, resulting in both men having had several drinks leading up to their conversation about Bond.
“He [Tarantino] was pounding the table, saying ‘You’re the best James Bond, I wanna do James Bond,’ and it was very close quarters in the restaurant and I thought, please calm down, but we don’t tell Quentin Tarantino to calm down.”
Brosnan added that while he won’t reveal the details of the Bond idea Tarantino pitched, after their meeting, Tarantino did go “back to the shop” and “told them” but that it “wasn’t meant to be.” He added that it would “be a good one to watch.”
