Reacher Receives Early Season 3 Renewal Ahead of Season 2 Debut
Season 2 of the hit Amazon Prime Video series, Reacher, hasn’t even debuted yet, but Season 3 has already been ordered, and production is also underway. The announcement was made in a new video recorded by star Alan Ritchson from the set of Season 3 for the Prime Video Panel at CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil. It was released alongside an extended clip from the season premiere, which you can see below.
Amazon gave the show a quick early renewal after the show became one of the top five most watched original seasons ever on Prime Video in the US and globally during its inaugural run. Seasons 2 and 3 of the hit show will premiere exclusively on the streamer in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
During Season 2, former Army Military Police Major Jack Reacher is once again pulled from his vagabond lifestyle when he receives a coded message informing him that one of the members of his elite special investigations unit, the 110th MP Special Investigations, has been murdered. Reacher meets up with some of his former military teammates to investigate the murder, and they soon realize it’s part of a bigger conspiracy than they ever could have imagined.
The series is based on the novels by Lee Child, who also serves as an executive producer on the show. Nick Santora serves as lead writer, showrunner, and executive producer for the hit series. Richtson will also serve as an executive producer on Season 3, along with Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance. Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid are the executives-in-charge of the series for Skydance Television.
Other cast members for Season 2 include the returning Maria Sten as Frances Neagly, Serinda Swan as Karla Dixon, Shaun Sipos as David O’Donnell, who are also former members of Reacher’s unit who join him in his investigation into their friend’s murder. Season 2 of the hit action series debuts on December 15 on Prime Video.
