Redband Trailer For Animated Watchmen Chapter 1 Previews The Saga’s Beginning

The redband trailer for Watchmen Chapter 1 has been released, giving a bloody look at the animated adaptation. Warner Bros. Entertainment released the restricted trailer on Wednesday for the animated adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ celebrated graphic novel, and you can check it out below.

The first part of the two-part animated home video release is set to arrive on August 13th, with Chapter 2 coming in 2025. The cast includes Matthew Rhys (Dan Dreiberg, Nite Owl), Katee Sackhoff (Laurie Juspeczyk, Silk Spectre), Titus Welliver (Rorschach, Walter Kovacs), Troy Baker (Adrian Veidt, Ozymandias), Adrienne Barbeau (Sally Jupiter, Silk Spectre), Corey Burton (Captain Metropolis), Michael Combs (Jonathan Osterman, Dr. Manhattan), Jeffrey Combs (Edgar Jacobi, Moloch), John Marshall Jones (Hooded Justice), Geoff Pierson (Hollis Mason, Nite Owl), Kari Wahlgren (Janey Slater), and Rick D. Wasserman (Edward Blake, The Comedian), with Kelly Hu, Max Koch, Phil LaMarr, Dwight Schultz, Jason Spisak, and Grey DeLisle.

The original graphic novel by Moore and Gibbons is a deconstruction of the superhero genre and follows “the lives of the eponymous superhero team as they seem to decay alongside the ever-darkening America around them. Rorschach, Nite Owl, the Silk Spectre, Dr. Manhattan and Ozymandias reunite to investigate who’s behind a teammate’s murder, but find that the truth may be even more grim than the world they seek to protect.”
