Ryan Reynolds & Samuel L. Jackson Returning For The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard
Ryan Reynolds & Samuel L. Jackson are reteaming to co-star in The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, the sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard. THR reports that the sequel is in the works, with the two expected to reprise their roles from the 2017 film. Patrick Hughes is likely to return as director, though it was noted that a script is not yet complete.
The Hitman’s Bodyguard starred Reynolds as a bodyguard who is hired to protect a hitman (Jackson) who has to testify at the International Criminal Court. Along the way, assassins are trying to take Jackson’s character out in order to prevent his testimony. The film was a hit with $177 million worldwide from a $30 million budget.
Salma Hayek played Jackson’s wife in the film, although there’s no word on whether she’ll return yet.
