Scream 6 Reportedly Set In New York City

Scream 6 is trading sleepy, deadly Woodsboro for New York City, according to a new report. According to Bloody Digusting, they have confirmed that the new film will be set within the Big Apple.
It was announced last month that the new film, which follows up on the successful fifth film (called simply Scream), would follow “the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.” New York City is the home of Gale Weathers in the franchise, as she moved to the city between Scream 4 and Scream to host her own morning show. The site reports that Courteney Cox will be back as Gale, though that has not been officially announced as of yet.
The new film is filming in Canada with Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, and Hayden Panettiere are all reprising their roles from the franchise and Dermot Mulroney signed on to play a police officer. Neve Campbell has announced that she will not be returning due to disagreements over her salary.
The new film will again be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from a script by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick and is set to release on March 31st, 2023.
