During their panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Joe & Anthony Russo shared more on their newest films with MCU stars Chadwick Boseman, Tom Holland, and Michael B. Jordan, including the trailer for Boseman’s 21 Bridges. You can see the trailer for 21 Bridges below, which the Russos are producing with Brian Kirk directing. It opens on September 27th and follows Boseman as an embattled NYPD detective who is thrust into a citywide manhunt for a pair of cop killers after uncovering a massive and unexpected conspiracy.

The Russos noted that they plan to use the credibility they built through their success in the MCU to tell stories that they feel are important. That includes 21 Bridges, which addresses social issues, and their upcoming film with Holland, Cherry. The two said Cherry will be their next film to direct, which Anthony described as an R-rated film. It is based on Nico Walker’s book of the same name and is based on his own life of being a former Army medic who came home from Iraq with extreme undiagnosed PTSD. He ultimately became addicted to opioids and began robbing banks until he was caught and convicted in 2011. Walker is scheduled to be released next year. The brothers said that the story is set in Cleveland near where they grew up, and is something very close to them.

They also revealed that they will be producing a remake of the heist film The Thomas Crown Affair starring Michael B. Jordan. The original story has been told twice on film before, first in 1968 starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, and then in 1999 remake with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. Both films were hits and told the story of a mastermind pulling off a heist and the insurance investigator looking into the crime. The Russos described the version they’re producing as a “new take” on the story.
