Sonic the Hedgehog 3 ‘Casting a Shadow’ Featurette Showcases Keanu Reeves Joining Sequel

Paramount Pictures released the new “Casting a Shadow” featurette for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, where fellow cast members Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, and Idris Elba welcome Keanu Reeves to the sequel. Reeves voices Shadow in the upcoming film due out next month. You can check out the new featurette below.

In the upcoming sequel, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles reunite to face a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they have ever faced before. With their abilities outmatched, Team Sonic seeks out an unlikely alliance in their hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet.

Jeff Fowler, who directed the first two films, returns as director for Sonic 3, with a script by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington. The cast includes the returning Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore, Adam Pally, and Lee Majdoub. Newcomers to the cast include Alyla Browne and Krysten Ritter, with Keanu Reeves joining the franchise as Shadow the Hedgehog.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 speeds into theaters on December 20.
