Sony’s Kraven The Hunter Film Casts Chameleon Role
Sony has found its Chameleon for the upcoming Spider-Man Universe Kraven The Hunter movie. Deadline reports that Fred Hechinger (Fear Street, The White Lotus) has joined the film, playing Marvel’s master of disguises who also happens to be Kraven’s half-brother.
Hechinger joins Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Russell Crowe in the film, which is part of Sony’s universe of Spider-Man-adjacent films. Taylor-Johnson is playing the titular role in the movie, which will be directed by J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year) from a screenplay co-written by Richard Wenk. Matt Holloway, and Art Marcum.
Chameleon, aka Dmitri Anatoly Nikolayevich Smerdyakov, was created by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee and first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #1 in March of 1963. Having developed a talent for impersonating others, he adopted the identity of Chameleon and emigrated to the US where he quickly became one of Spider-Man’s primary villains.
