Entertainment Weekly recently spoke to Arrow star Stephen Amell, who revealed that fans shouldn’t expect him to appear as a guest star on DC Comics CW shows again anytime soon, and that he’s done playing the role of Oliver Queen.

When asked if he would ever return to the “Arrowverse,” he said, “No, I’m done. That was good. It was a good eight years but it was time to be done.”

On watching The CW again, he added, “It was actually really, really weird to watch The CW again. It was weird seeing promos for Supergirl and Flash and Batwoman again. It seems like a different lifetime. I don’t think I’ll be doing that again.”

There will be a spinoff to Arrow called Green Arrow and the Canaries, which had a pilot that aired during the final season for Arrow. The show is in contention for a 2021-2020 TV season. Regarding that episode, he stated, “I actually haven’t seen that episode because I wasn’t in it. I haven’t gotten around to watching it but I’m sure I will at some point.”

Stephen Amell was slated to start filming the new Starz wrestling-themed drama, Heels. However, the production has been halted indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has been frustrating for the actor. Amell commented on the production, “I was getting ready to shoot my new show Heels and that’s been put on hold indefinitely. That’s frustrating because I was getting excited. We’ve got an amazing cast. It’s going to be awesome. But for the moment my training has stopped.”

The Heels series will be about two brothers, one a heel (Amell) and one a face, and their struggles inside the ring and out following the death of their father who was the promoter of the wrestling promotion they work for.
