Texas Chainsaw Massacre Debuts at #2 On Netflix Charts, Inventing Anna Reigns For TV
Texas Chainsaw Massacre has a solid debut on the Netflix viewing charts, coming in at #2 for the week in its first few days. The slasher film came in second place for the week ending February 20th, three days after it premiered on the service, with 29.18 million hours viewed. That’s the best debut on the Netflix Top 10 charts since The Tinder Swindler logged 45.8 million hours in its first four days for the week ending February 6th.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre dodged shady reviews (a low 32% aggregate score on Rotten Tomatoes) and audience scores (31% on RT) to hit the mark. The film lost out on the top spot due to the aforementioned Tinder Swindler, which pulled in 34.45 million hours viewed in its third week to claim the #1 position.
The #3 spot went to teen romcom Tall Girl 2, which logged 21.74 million views in its second week. #4 went to the Wu Assassins follow-up film Fistful of Vengeance, which scored 18.3 million hours in its first week.
The non-English film category was led by the second week of the Turkish film Love Tactics, which scored 16.86 million hours viewed. Spanish teen romance Through My Window was #2 with 13.3 million hours in its third week, followed by French science fiction comedy Bigbug‘s second week (8.11 million hours) and South Korean romcom Love and Leashes (7.42 million hours).
On the TV side, the English series chart was topped by Inventing Anna. The limited series had a massive 195.97 hours in its second week, up from 77.31 million hours in its debut. Season two of Love Is Blind notched 58.96 million hours in its second week for #2, while #3 went to season two of Sweet Magnolias in its third week (29.76 million hours). Part one of Ozark season four spent its fifth week at #4 (17.99 million hours).
Finally, the first season of South Korean zombie series All Of Us Are Dead remained atop the non-English TV show chart. The season spent its fourth week at #1 with 62.13 million hours viewed. The show has rocketed up the all-time charts, standing at #3 among non-English shows with 536.39 million hours viewed. Season one of Café con aroma de mujer debuted at #2 with 39.75 million hours viewed, followed by Toy Boy season two (23.81 million in its second week) and Dark Desire season two in its third week (22.95 million hours).
