The Beekeeper 2 Moving Forward With Jason Statham Returning

Jason Statham will be back for more action in The Beekeeper 2, with Timo Tjahjanto set to direct. Deadline reports that Statham is set to reprise his role as Adam Clay from the 2024 sleeper hit and that Tjahjanto (Nobody 2, The Night Comes for Us) set to take over for David Ayer as director. Ayers is looking to be brought back in a producer capacity.

The original film released in January of last year and starred Statham as a retired secret intelligence operative who goes on a quest for revenge after his landlady is victimized in a phishing scam. The film was a big hit for Amazon MGM with $153 million worldwide against a budget of $40 million.

Kurt Wimmer is back to write the screenplay for the sequel, which is looking to begin production in the fall. No word on a plot for the film as of yet.
