The Monkey Trailer Teases Bloody Adaptation Of Stephen King Story
Osgood Perkins’ next project is an adaptation of Stephen King’s The Monkey, and the first trailer hints at a darkly funny and gruesome affair. NEON released the trailer on Tuesday for the horror film, and you can check it out below.
The trailer teases the monkey toy depicted in King’s stort story as, to quote the narration, “a beast not from this Earth smiting the ones who deserved it.” There is a bit of Final Destination-like Rube Goldberg method to the kills by the looks of the trailer and plenty of blood.
The film is Perkins’ first since this summer’s indie hit Longlegs and stars Theo James as twin brothers Hal and Bill alongside Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood, Laura Mennell, Christian Convery, Sarah Levy, Rohan Campbell, Colin O’Brien, and Corin Clark. It releases on February 21st, 2025 and is described as follows:
When twin brothers Bill and Hal find their father’s old monkey toy in the attic, a series of gruesome deaths start. The siblings decide to throw the toy away and move on with their lives, growing apart over the years
But when the mysterious deaths begin again, the brothers must reunite to find a way to destroy the monkey for good before it takes the lives of everyone close to them.
