The Simpsons Writers Want to Do a Story Featuring The Rock
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a busy man, but the writing team of The Simpsons hope he has time to do a story on the show. During this past weekend’s Comic-Con@Home panel for the legendary FOX animated show, writer Carolyn Omine noted that they’ve come up with a storyline that would feature the Great One as well as Lisa Simpson.
“There’s a story that we actually came up with, Lisa and The Rock…but we don’t know [if it will happen] yet,” Omine said (per Wrestling Inc). “We’re still hoping that The Rock will hear us. If anybody knows The Rock, tell him that we want that!”
Yeardley Smith, who voices Lisa, added, “It just seems like a natural fit. I’ve been saying that this is a great idea in my interviews over the last few years. Every time anybody asks me which guest star I want on The Simpsons, my answer is always Dwayne Johnson, and that I want him to befriend Lisa Simpson. Duh!”
You can see the full Comic-Con@Home panel on the show below. Johnson has had a full plate for some time, with starring roles in Jungle Cruise, Red Notice, Black Adam, and a lead voice role as Krypto in DC League of Super-Pets all scheduled to come out in the next year and several more upcoming films on his docket, as well as NBC’s Young Rock series which is coming back for a second season.
