Now, on with the show!
Last week we discussed our Favorite Batman & Superman Team-Ups. Here’s what some of you had to say:
Carl Rood: “Not exactly a story, but and interaction. After Superman gets hold of the piece of Kryptonite that used to be in Luthor’s ring, he gives it to Batman as a precaution against him possibly losing control. I believe this was around the time where he returned after exiling himself for similar reasons.
Superman said something like, “I want the means for my death in the hands of someone I can trust with my life.”
There’s also the time right after Clark married Lois, Batman arranged a honeymoon for them and mobilized nearly every hero available to cover Metropolis while he was gone.”
Wrestling Fan: “The World’s Finest Baman/Superman TAS movie deserves a mention. It was a blast, with some of the best characterization of both heroes, as well as Luthor and the Joker.”
William Jansen: “I liked their brief interaction in Hush with Superman being under Poison Ivys control, but trying to hold back from harming Batman. But then again, I liked pretty much everything about Hush including a childhood-favourite of mine being revealed as the mastermind.”
D-Unit: “”One Night in Gotham” will always be the best to me. I remember having the comic that came with the cassette tape when I was a kid. Perfectly portrays both characters and how they differ from each other. I wish they would have based the “Batman vs. Superman” movie on this instead of the way they went with it.”
Michael L: “There were some pretty interesting interactions during the No Man’s Land storyline around 2000 or so. The first had Superman try to help out, only to realize that the people weren’t ready to be helped. A later interaction has Clark Kent go incognito, only to have the World’s Greatest Detective point out all the things wrong with his appearance, albeit unnoticeable for most of the Gotham population.”
Phenomenal: “I really enjoyed Super Friends from King’s recent Batman run. Probably best arc he had in series.”

Thoughts on Marvel’s House of X and Powers of X
Check out the video above of Marvel’s The Pull List podcast which has revealed some new details about writer Jonathan Hickman’s two upcoming X-Men series House of X and Powers of X.
Marvel announced Hickman would be joining the X-Men franchise at C2E2 in Chicago. “We are excited to have Jon back with the Marvel family, and we could not have asked for a better creative team to help usher the X-Men into a whole new era,” Marvel Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski said in a statement. “While we can’t reveal too much about the story just yet, these new stories will redefine the X-Men and their place in the Marvel Universe. This is a historic moment both new and passionate fans won’t want to miss.”
House of X will see Charles Xavier reveal “his master plan for mutantkind…one that will bring mutants out of the shadow of mankind and into the light once more.”
From the looks of it, Xavier’s dream puts him in the forefront, alongside Magneto, Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Wolverine.
Powers of X (pronounced ‘Powers of Ten’ like the Roman numeral) will show the “the secret past, present, and future of mutantkind, changing the way you look at every X-Men story before and after.”
I know the X-Men have had a rocky few years but it looks like Marvel is really committed to bringing them back to popularity. On paper House of X and Power of X look like a real push to get there.
The X-Men have gone through a number of changes and it seems like they’re trying to go back to its roots and build on the nostalgia. Powers of X will be interesting in how it attempts to re-frame classic X-Men stories.
I’m intrigued.
What’ your excitement level for House of X and Power of X?
That’s all the time I have. Check out our Comic Book Reviews tomorrow and see you next week!
