Warner Bros. Discovery Reportedly Negotiating Sale of Coyote vs. ACME, Film Could Arrive Next Year

The live-action/animated hybrid Coyote vs. ACME may finally see the light of day and could hit theaters as soon as next year. Deadline reports that Ketchup Entertainment is negotiating to get the rights to the film for a price of $50 million. Ketchup previously saved The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, which is in theaters now. The deal isn’t final yet, but if things turn out well, it will arrive in theaters next year.
The film was directed by David Green from a script by Samy Burch, James Gunn and Jeremy Slater. It stars Will Forte, John Cena and Lana Condor. It follows Wile E. Coyoto, who sues ACME when their products fail him too many times in his hunt to get the Roadrunner.
The film tested well but was infamously shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery two years ago. The studio screened the movie to buyers in early 2024 with a price of $70 million, which is believed to be the movie’s budget. However, they had no offers at the time. The film was originally greenlit in December 2020 and was intended for MAX, same as The Day the Earth Blew Up.
