Warner Bros. Officially Announces The Batman 2 At CinemaCon
The Batman is returning for a second adventure, with a sequel announced at CinemaCon on Tuesday. Warner Bros. announced during their presentation at the convention that the hit DC superhero film will get a sequel, as noted by 411’s Jeffrey Harris.
Matt Reeves appeared at the event and thanked fans for their support of the first film, which has grossed $367.8 million domestically and $758.9 million worldwide since releasing in early March. Reeves will be returning to the director’s chair for the sequel, along with Robert Pattinson as Batman/Bruce Wayne. No word on anyone else that might be back for the sequel, nor plot details or a release date.
The first film starred Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgard, Barry Keoghan, and Jayme Lawson. Reeves directed and co-wrote the film with Peter Craig.
