Ted Lasso could be getting its fourth season after all, with Warner Bros. TV picking up options for three of the main cast. Deadline reports that WBTV picked up the options for Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift. All three are under the purview of Equity, the UK actor’s union.

The report goes on to note that the studio is expected reach out to the rest of the core cast who are under SAG-AFTRA, all of whom will need new deals as their options has expired. That includes Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt, who co-created the show and served as EPs in addition to their starring roles, along with Juno Temple. The moves, along with the studio beginning to set up a writer’s room, set the stage for a potential fourth season greenlight. Sudeikis is believed to be on board for a new season, as the studio would not be moving forward without him.

Sudeikis envisioned the show as the three-season arc that played out on screen from 2020 through 2023, though he did not shut the door on another potential season if the right idea was found. The show was a huge hit for Apple TV+ and WBTV, helping add credibility to the streaming service and earning 13 Emmy wins through its three seasons including two for Outstanding Comedy Series and two each for for Sudeikis and Goldstein (in Outstanding Lead Actor and Outstanding Supporting Actor), plus one for Waddingham in Outstanding Supporting Actress.

If everything comes together, an early 2025 production start is being considered.
