Zack Snyder Hopes David Ayer’s Suicide Squad Cut Gets Released
Zack Snyder is getting his cut of Justice League made at last, and he’s hoping that the so-called “Ayer Cut” of Suicide Squad sees the light of day as well. Snyder appeared on John Doe Movie Reviews and was asked if he’d spoken with Ayer about his alleged original cut of the DCEU film. Snyder, who is set to release his four-part cut of Justice League on HBO Max, said he hasn’t but plans to.
“I haven’t talked to David about it, but I’m sure I will,” Snyder said (per JoBlo. “I know him quite well. I’ve just been swamped, you know, because of Covid but t’s on my list of things to talk to him about. Like, I support any filmmaker who needs to get their version of their movie or their vision sort of seen, because I’ve had, you know, such generous support. So, I really would hope that other people would get that same thing.”
Suicide Squad was very profitable for Warner Bros., though the film was savaged by critics and some fans as well. Ayer said in May that an ‘Ayer Cut’ of Suicide Squad would be “easy to complete,” but shot down rumors last month that such a film is currently set to release on HBO Max.
