Welcome to The Best Damn TNA Recap: Ver. 2 for 411wrestling.com. Once again, it’s me, the King of Wrestling Media Larry Csonka and I am here for you recapping pleasures. Remember, I don’t do star ratings, not my thing. My play by play is straight up, unless something just screams to be commented on in a sarcastic way, which I love to do. I have a good time, I mark out and yes I really enjoy TNA as well as the WWE and all wrestling. So sit back and relax and enjoy The Best Damn TNA Recap: Ver. 2!

Last week on Impact:

  • ”God’s Gift to the Announce Table” Christopher Daniels joined Tenay and West.

Match #1 Petey Williams w/Coach D’Amore defeated Shark Boy

Match #2 AJ Styles © defeated Brad Quartermain.

Match #3 Jeff Hardy defeated David Young

  • Abyss attacked Hardy after the match and they battled to the back.
  • Tenay tells us that in the Full Metal Mayhem match, there will be 2 envelopes hanging above the ring. To win, you have to get one of these envelopes. One is empty, and the other contains an NWA Title shot.
  • Kazarian and Shane convince Young to face Jeff Hammond next week on Impact.

Match #4 Abyss defeated Lex Lovett

Elix Skipper vs. Chris Sabin vs. Shark Boy

And our Main Event – Dustin Rhodes & Chris Harris & James Storm vs. Raven & Kid Kash & Lance Hoyt

    TNA Impact Starts…NOW!

Highlights of the Nash massage and Jarrett attack that failed.

Mike Tenay and Don West welcome us to Universal Studios and TNA IMPACT! They start with some PPV pimping as per usual and a polite welcome to boot.

In the back with Dusty Rhodes, he says that if JJ uses the guitar, he will be DQ’ed and lose the title. That isn’t new Dusty, always been a rule, just not enforced.

Match #1 Sonny Siaki vs. Johnny Devine w/Coach D’Amore and Eric Young

Devine attacks right at the bell. Siaki fights back with right hands and then a backdrop to Devine. Irish whip and Siaki eats a boot but is able to get a northern-lights toss to Devine. Right hands by Siaki in the corner now, and he climbs up and punches away even more now. D’Amore distracts the ref and Young nails Siaki who is dazed. Boot by Devine and now he is in control. Young chokes out Siaki as the ref yells at Devine. Suplex to Siaki and Devine locks in a bow and arrow. He releases the hold and kicks Siaki in the head again. Fisherman’s style suplex into a stunner by Devine, very cool move there. Devine goes to the apron…slingshot into an Asai moonsault but Siaki is able to get the knees up! Clothesline to Devine! Leaping leg lariat by Siaki! Spinning neck breaker for 2 by Siaki. Rake of the eyes by Devine, but Siaki slams him down. Siaki nails Young now, suplex by Siaki reversed by Devine into a roll up with his feet on the ropes and that is all @ 3:55.

  • Nothing special here, cookie cutter heel win for Devine.

Highlights of Brown, DDP, Nash and JJ at the Best Damn Super Bowl Road Show. DDP talks to Jerry Rice who picks Nash to win. JJ hangs with T.O.

    Commercial time.

We are back with Shane Douglas who is with Monty Brown. Douglas says Hall will be in the match, but he has been pulled by TNA. Eric Young will replace him. Brown says he hasn’t forgotten about JJ robbing him of the NWA title, twice. He is a survivor and he has learned from the past. The title is his destiny. He says Hall and Rude got into his business, and it is Risky Business now. They will feel the POOOOOOUUUUNNNCE! PERIOD!

Match #2 DDP vs. Chris Candido

Candido has some bad “MUSAK” version of “Born in the USA” for his intro music.

Lock up to start, and DDP with an arm bar. Tries the Cutter, but Candido shoves him off. Arm bar again by DDP, Candido rolls him up for 2. Lefts by DDP and Candido is down. Cutter try again, but Candido tries a backslide but then low blows DDP. DDT to DDP now, and is in control. Candido with right hands and then mocks DDP. Stalling vertical suplex by Candido…and down. Candido up top…DDP up and crotches him on the top rope. DDP goes over… Candido still sitting on top…DIAMOND CUTTER! 1…2…3 @ 2:23.

  • Well, squash.

D’Amore is out with the mic. He says Sunday, Hall is with a winner, Bobby Rude and Team Canada. He says DDP doesn’t have to wait, because Rude is ready now! DDP says to “Shut up fat boy!” “Don’t sing it, bring it!” All of Team Canada is out now, and they head to the ring. MONTY IS OUT! Team Canada wants NO part of them and back off.

Highlights of Hardy and Abyss’s feud.

    Commercial time.

We are back as we have another promo for “Titus.”

Match #3 Jeff Hammond w/3LK vs. David Young w/Kazarian and Shane

Thankfully Hammond has his shirt on this week.

Konnan with retro mic work. Same for James, with a twist. They are the 3 live pit krew.

Hammond talks, and says sooner or later, they have to make a pit stop.

Lock up and Young misses a right hand. Then levels Hammond. Boots to Hammond then pulls his hair. Young chokes him out, but Hammond is out and kinda spears him. Shane distracts the ref, and Kazarian knocks Hammond off of Young. Suplex by Young, and Killings distracts the ref, James in and a pump handle slam to Young. Hammond acts like he is driving a car and drops an elbow they call “the pit stop” and pins Young @ 1:28.

Kazarian and Shane attack Hammond but the 3LPK stop them.

  • That poor bastard David Young.

Dusty steps out if his “truck office” and talks with Traci. Trinity exits the “truck office” as they talk and fixes her top and says Dusty isn’t old like everyone thinks. Traci gets all pissed. Sexual Innuendo with Dusty…I need mental floss.

    Commercial time.

Mental note, buy Cook the Kid Kash shirt for his birthday.

We are back as AJ Styles joins the commentary team. Daniels is out, and says AJ wears his title, and now steals his commentary job! Daniels isn’t any ham sandwich like Dutt or Sabin! Daniels slaps AJ, and then AJ leaps the table and we have a brawl! Security is out to break them up

Match #4 Elix Skipper vs. Chris Sabin vs. Shark Boy

Sabin and Sharky shake, then Elix shakes with Sharky and nails Sabin with a spin kick! Dirty bastard! Right hands to Sharky, and an atomic drop as well. RANA by Sabin, and then a neck breaker by Sharky. At Destination X, there will be a 4-man Ultimate X Match by decree of the American Dream! Cover by Sharky for 2 on Elix. Sharky to the floor, Sabin goes to nail him with a dive but Elix catches him with a spin kick. Elix kicks Sharky as he tries to re-enter the ring and sits Sabin on top. Elix goes for a superplex, but Sharky is up…Powerbomb/superplex combo by all 3! SWEET! Sharky covers Sabin for 2. Sabin to the floor, and Sharky covers Elix for 2. Right hands exchanged, and Sabin flies in with a MISSILE DROP KICK to both! Clotheslines by Sabin, Tornado DDT to Sharky and also he got Elix with a kick on the way down! Sabin up and goes up top, Elix shoves Sabin off the top and he crotches himself on the top rope. NEW SCHOOL RANA to Sabin! Sharky on top…DEEP SEA DRIVER TO SABIN! Elix tosses him, and then covers Sabin for the win @ 2:55.

  • Fun match, but way to short. Just a collection of spots, but what do you want in 3-minutes?

Highlights of the Daniels vs. Styles feud.

    Commercial time.

We are back and Tenay has a pre-taped interview with JJ and Nash via satellite. Tenay says Dusty barred them from the Impact Zone. Nash is in Hollywood, and says his strategy is the same, even with Dusty’s new stip. He is working out hard and building up his cardio. He doesn’t get paid by the hour, so he wants to finish JJ early. His offense is high impact, and all business. JJ says the stip means nothing. He says he beats everyone with the stroke. He has a game plan and will take all of Nash’s punishment because he is smart. He’ll win by any means necessary. Nash says that he joked about the money, but it is all about the gold in wrestling. He wife loves gold, so it will be a Valentine’s Day gift for her, him with gold. He then puts over JJ. He’s going to take his game up 5 or 6 notches (which means he will be on notch 7) and give his best to JJ. JJ says he eats, sleeps and breaths wrestling. The gold is everything to him. He has always focused on winning the gold, because it is what he is all about. He has defended the title all over the world, and he has a heritage to live up to. He has studied tape, and is one step better. He says Nash always makes a mockery of wrestling, and he will take all the punishment from Nash. Nash has had 13 knee surgeries, but JJ says he won’t divulge his game plan. He’s the smartest wrestler ever. He’ll leave on Sunday the champ still. Nash says JJ won’t leave with the gold. Tenay pimps the PPV.

    Commercial time.

    We are back

Match #5 Dustin Rhodes & Chris Harris & James Storm vs. Raven & Kid Kash & Lance Hoyt

Storm and Kash to start. Lock up and an arm bar by Kash. Storm reverses, off the ropes and an arm drag to Kash. Arm drag by Kash and a commercial already @ 0:52.

We are back at 3:22 and Hoyt is beating down Harris. Tag to Kash and he mails Harris with repeated right hands and tags in Raven. Snap mare and a stiff kick by Raven to Harris’s back. Tag to Kash and a springboard moonsault to Harris for 2! Right hands by Kash and Harris battles back. Kash up top…crotches and Harris goes up top with him. Kash fights him off…and Harris crashes to the mat. Kash MISSES a Frog Splash and both men are down. Raven tagged in and Harris gets a lariat! TAG TO Rhodes! Right hands to everyone! All 6 men are in now and Rhodes with the double drop down uppercut! Super kick by Storm to Hoyt! Atomic drop to Raven by Rhodes! Bulldog to Raven and that is all @ 6:15.

  • Stop taking commercial breaks during the main event! A BULLDOG AGAIN!? Please! Short main event that was just used to help build these 2 PPV matches.

A very well done PPV hype video runs as the show ends.

  • Final Impact Thoughts: Not a great show this week. The X-Division 3-way was fun, but way too short. There was no really good wrestling this week as they focused on the build of the PPV. The sad part is that the last 3 weeks they had built the PPV beautifully, and didn’t need the super hard sell. This show fell very flat, and someone that turned in and hadn’t seen the 3 previous shows would probably have no desire to order this show.
